About the role
This is a new role reporting to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, you will drive business performance through insightful financial analysis and strategic decision-making. You will play a crucial part in shaping our organisation's future by providing specialised financial and commercial support. Permanent Full Time role location Newcastle or Sydney
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive company analyses to formulate reports, historical analyses, and trend forecasts and long term forecasts and planning.
- Perform market and competitor analyses by analysing key drivers and performance outcomes.
- Assist in strategic business planning through qualitative and quantitative analysis of initiatives and business case assessments including tender evaluations.
- Provide objective market analysis and modelling to support budgeting and business planning.
- Deliver regular and ad-hoc analysis to various business units to provide insights into business drivers with a view of standardised reporting and use of technology and data visualization tools.
- Develop customised client reporting in alignment with contractual requirements.
- Offer support in commercial decision-making and evaluate the viability of business proposals.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting.
- Membership in CPA Australia, Institute of Chartered Accountants, or equivalent.
- Proven commercial acumen and experience in business analysis or similar roles.
- Ability to critically evaluate proposals and make sound commercial judgments.
- Strong reporting, presentation, financial analysis, and modelling skills.
- Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
