The Business Analyst role underpins the sustainability and growth of EML through the effective integration between business stakeholders and the development team.
The role is part of a high performing and customer-responsive team that works strategically to capture, document, and understand business requirements, helping to deliver technology improvements via software development and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The role requires an agile mindset and a proactive and practical approach to engaging with business and technology stakeholders to drive positive business outcomes.
This will be a full time, 12 month contract position based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce detailed business requirements, process maps and data analysis for complex applications and systems including AI.
- Undertake discovery activities including facilitating group workshops to support and construct business requirements.
- Conduct cost benefit analysis and business benefit realisation activities to aid management decision making and assist the prioritisation and planning of activities.
- Strategic analysis of new ideas to support completion of Business Cases.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve the business by way of technology, data or business process changes.
- Subject matter expert providing support to the business on the capabilities of software applications and support Agile development processes, including the facilitation and completion of user acceptance testing.
ABOUT YOU
- Full Australian working rights without restrictions.
- At least 5 years’ demonstrated commercial experience in a similar Business Analyst role, working within a fast-paced business environment
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills including verbal and written, and the ability to work proactively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within the team and provide excellent customer service.
- Knowledge and experience of technology development lifecycle and processes
- Highly proficient with Microsoft office suite.
- Experience working with agile software development teams, and platforms such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with insurance products including Workers Compensation and CTP highly regarded.
- Experience or exposure to AI concepts and technologies highly regarded.
- Project coordinator/scrum master experience would be advantageous.
