About the roleThe
Senior Case Manager, a vital member of the
Family Services team, supports Aboriginal families referred to the VACCA
Family Services program. This role, embedded in a multidisciplinary team of diverse professionals, involves close collaboration with parents, family units, and key partners to deliver comprehensive family support services. By implementing culturally sensitive and trauma-informed practices, the
Senior Case Manager empowers families to narrate their stories authentically, ensuring active participation in decision-making and planning processes and fostering self-determination.
About YouThe ideal candidate will embody and uphold VACCA's values and vision, working respectfully and competently with Aboriginal youth, families, and communities to maintain cultural connections. They will possess a deep understanding of the impacts of colonization and intergenerational trauma, especially for those involved with Child Protection. The candidate should be skilled in evidence-informed practice approaches, including Cultural and Common Elements, and exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. They must be adept at working both independently and as part of a team, maintaining accurate case notes, and building trusting relationships to help families set and achieve goals. Collaborative experience with other organizations to achieve shared outcomes is essential, as is the ability to support and provide constructive feedback to colleagues. A relevant qualification in Community Services, Social Work, or equivalent experience is required.
