The Xero Change Management Team is part of Xero's Business Operations and Strategy function. We are experts in how to manage & foster change by applying the best tools and approach, depending on what changes we need to deliver or outcomes we need to drive.
Our team is focused on two key opportunities:
1. Delivering change to Xeros in the most effective, seamless and engaging ways which will ultimately enable the people & business outcomes we want to see.
2. Looking across the business to understand the volume of change, the concentrated areas of impact and the overall experience of change we're creating for our people so we can enable awareness & great decision making when it comes to delivering and communicating changes.
By combining these two lenses, we are able to not only deliver change, we're also able to understand the landscape of the business so we're aware of the readiness of the teams to adopt new tools, ways of working or even behaviours.
Your role as a Senior Change Manager will support a portfolio of strategic changes. You will do this by partnering with the business, providing trusted advice and supporting the execution of high impact initiatives.
Success looks like...

  • You'll be an engaging and competent change management expert who the business trusts and loves working with.
  • You're an ambassador and subject matter expert for the portfolio you represent.
  • You'll be a trusted leader who the team feels supported and inspired to work with.
  • You will be able to call upon your experience and coaching skills to support the team, onboard new starters and look for ways to improve areas that aren't working as well as they could.
  • With any evolving team & role, at times there will be a bit of “grey” while we refine our services to meet Xero's needs.
  • You'll continue to flex your diverse skills and work across each service stream while we implement change activities and work across different change initiatives and service lines, e.g.: project change, org change, culture change, M&A change, Enterprise implementations.
Experience...
  • 10-15+ years in a senior delivery role.
  • Previous experience conducting robust research or business analysis is a must.
  • Good understanding and ability to operate strategically, understand the landscape of a business and how to effectively engage with business owners and teams.
  • Strong experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Good commercial acumen able to grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Passion and understanding for change management and the people-focused “journey of change”.
  • Previous experience setting up and/or improving operational processes.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to navigate a fast paced, high change environment

  • Great leadership skills, coaching and people development.
  • A strong “customer” and service mindset.
  • Exceptional advocacy skills to drive engagement and awareness for these new services.
  • Excellent presentation skills, including presenting to senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical and/or research skills.
  • Hunger and willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and get stuck into a variety of tasks.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation and documentation skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional empathy and ability to understand people, especially during times of change where they may be uncomfortable.
  • Be calm under pressure.
  • Able to call upon the relevant frameworks & methodologies to successfully deliver the "change" at hand.
