Data Analytics, & CRM (DA&CRM) is vital in transforming HSBC into bank fit for the future. The team is functionally part of Global DA&CRM team and locally part of HSBC Wealth and Personal Banking business (WPB) accountable for building and commercializing data asset and advanced analytics capabilities to enhance customer experience reimagined, deliver business growth, enable data led innovation, and drive informed decision. As part of Global function and local business, we have the best of both worlds leveraging our global capabilities while delivering local agenda.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the Australian Data, Analytics, & CRM team in the role of Senior Chapter Lead, Data Science & Analytics, supporting the Head of Data, Analytics, & CRM for Australia as 2IC.
This is a key leadership position leading the delivery overall and commercialisation of data science and analytics across the entire Australian Wealth & Personal Banking (WPB) business - products, propositions, marketing, digital, channels, fraud and financial crime, and operations. The role holder will report to the Head of Data, Analytics, & CRM.
 
Your main responsibilities will include: 
 
•Building and maintaining strong ongoing engagement of stakeholders and senior leaders across the Wealth & Personal Banking business. Proactively identifying opportunities, business and customer problems where data-led solutions can create significant business value and solve high impact business and customer problems.
•Delivery owner of Customer Lifecycle Marketing (CLCM) analytics and Program Lead for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) transformation, including experimental design, customer segmentation, response optimisation, opportunity identification, tracking and sizing. Leads the expansion, enhancement and governance of our suite of machine learning models.
•Ownership and accountability of the consolidated book of work for all data, analytics, and data science delivery, outcomes, and commercialisation. This includes tracking of benefits such as financial impact and time/cost savings, and playing back to senior stakeholders and leaders.
•Program manager and governance lead for all strategically related work, data assets such as dashboards and machine learning models, major deep-dive analysis, projects, strategic data transformation, and business transformation related delivery. Ensures governance, standardisation, connectivity, efficiency, accuracy/integrity and reusability across squads.
•Responsible for local and offshore resource management. Allocating resources to squads and global specialist teams from a pool of 17 data science and analytics resources ensuring alignment to local and global strategic priorities. Provides guidance for resource management of pool of 10 CRM and messaging resources to deliver our CRM and messaging transformation program.
•Leads quarterly planning and interlocks resourcing with squad leads, local business leads and global specialisms, and provides input and oversight to sprint planning and delivery. To be successful in this role, you will need: 

•10+ years experience in retail banking leading diverse advanced data science teams to deliver data-led solutions for business areas such as marketing & customer decisioning (customer “next best action”), product & pricing, digital and assisted channels, and fraud and financial crime. Additional experience in consulting desirable.
•Proven hands-on experience developing machine learning and econometric modelling for predicting cross-sell propensity, attrition, fraud and scam detection, marketing mix spend optimisation, pricing elasticity and optimisation, and customer sentiment.
•Deep technical knowledge of customer segmentation, digital analytics and digital marketing, portfolio analytics, data mining development and applications, and market/industry reviews for strategy formulation. Excellent strategic and creative “out of the box” thinking capacity.
•Proven experience combining data science expertise, deep retail banking business & product knowledge, strategy development, and an entrepreneurial mind-set to drive commercialisation of data-led solutions.
•Undergraduate/postgraduate studies in mathematics, statistics, actuarial studies, engineering, computer science, and other relevant areas of study.

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
