Drake Trades and Technical seeks an experienced Senior Project Civil Engineer with a demonstrated history of success in the fields of mining dams, tailings management, and civil regulatory structures in Queensland. This role is pivotal for overseeing the site-based delivery of substantial civil engineering projects within the mining sector, ensuring not only compliance with all regulatory frameworks but also the seamless integration of complex designs into practical, on-site execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specialised Regulatory Structures: Lead the capital project with an expert grasp of Queensland's specific regulations concerning mining dams, tailings, and civil infrastructure, ensuring all works not only meet but exceed regulatory standards.
- Safety and Environmental Leadership: Uphold and champion stringent safety and environmental protocols, particularly those relating to dam safety and tailings management.
- Technical Mentorship: Provide specialised mentorship to team members, focusing on the technical, regulatory, and safety aspects of mining dam and tailings projects.
- Project Management Excellence: Direct and manage project execution, emphasizing adherence to technical specifications, budgetary constraints, and regulatory compliance.
- Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong, collaborative relationships with regulatory bodies, internal teams, and external partners to ensure project alignment and compliance with all civil regulatory requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience: Over 10 years in senior Project Engineering or management, with a significant portion of this experience directly related to mining dams, tailings facilities, and civil regulatory structures within the QLD mining industry.
- Expertise: Demonstrable expertise in managing large-scale Civil Projects, with a strong emphasis on mining dams and tailings management.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Mines Safety Act, environmental regulations, and best practices in civil, geotechnical, and structural engineering related to mining infrastructure.
- Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) is essential, RPEQ certification is highly preferred, along with other qualifications that support expertise in mining and civil engineering.
