Who you will be working with?
Be part of Queensland Treasury who strive to build a strong economy for all Queenslanders. The QGIF is a self-insurance scheme for Government risks and provides services which identify liabilities on a whole-of-Government basis to ensure the establishment of adequate provisioning to fund claim managements.
The role will involve working in a collaborative team, on a portfolio of personal injury claims from the initial assessment and investigation to the negotiation and settlement. You will be reporting to the Director and Claims Manager on a regular basis.

Duties and responsibilities include:
- Managing end-to-end insurance claims across various classes of insurance in the personal injuries space
- Investigating and analysing cases to determine liability, causation and quantum, establishing adequate and precise claims estimates
- Working with a range of stakeholders and external parties, attending conferences and managing litigation to resolve claims
- Negotiating the appropriate direct settlement of claims and approve legal and other expenses in regard to delegations
- Representing the organisation at settlements, court hearings, conferences and negotiations
- Preparing reports, summaries and submissions with respect to claims
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience managing personal injury claims under the PIPA
- A robust understanding of liability and causation principles, with the ability to assess personal injury claims and manage litigation
- Ability to deliver a high-level of customer service with emotional intelligence and attention to detail
- Can work well both autonomously and effectively in a team to accomplish organizational goals
- Leads by thinking critically and strategically to make insightful decisions
- Takes the initiative to produce a consistent quality of work through governance and risk management and is self-motivated
- Eager to build professional relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes
