Your role
The Senior Client Service Officer needs to understand, interpret, and apply standards, legislation, policy and guidelines in providing services to clients and in managing properties and tenancies.
The role acts autonomously in relation to providing advice, referral, and provision of some housing assistance however line manager approval is needed for some products and for determination of out of guideline approvals.
What you'll do
You will be passionate about making a difference and delivering high quality tenancy management and homelessness services to people residing in properties managed by Homes NSW. You will have a strong customer focus and be committed to person-centred, culturally sensitive service delivery as you work with our clients and their support networks to deliver the best possible outcomes.
You will deliver innovative solutions for people who are experiencing barriers to maintaining safe and affordable accommodation, homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless.
As a Senior Client Service Officer, you are the public face of our business providing critical services and quality advice to clients including those with complex support needs.
You will partner with Specialist Caseworkers and health professionals to help deliver a broad range of applicant, tenancy, property management services and advice to clients, advocates and other stakeholders.
You will also proactively engage with people experiencing barriers to sustaining their tenancy or homelessness and implement policy and procedure through a client centred approach.
Your positive outcomes will support our tenants to sustain their tenancies, lead to swift placement of clients into temporary accommodation and provide a pathway to stable long-term housing.
What we're looking for
- Work collaboratively with internal specialists and external service providers and make referrals where additional support requirements are identified to better meet client needs.
- Work in partnership with other stakeholders to resolve complex tenancy issues and neighbourhood disputes; manage breach of tenancy agreements
- Provide advice and/ or make appropriate referrals to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients with complex support and housing needs in accessing appropriate support services.
- Develop and sustain local partnerships with other providers to build stronger Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Promote and support the importance of cultural connections within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Understand how to work respectfully with Elders, Community Leaders, and families with children in kinship care, and knowing when to report conflicts of interest around extended family.
