Senior Clincian - Speech Pathologist

Brightside Recruitment is currently working with a expanding not for profit organisation based in Penrith. The organisation delivers a range complimentary health, welfare and educational services within a safe and respectful environment for individuals with autism, their families, carers and the professionals who support them. 

Role;
The key purpose of the  Senior Speech Pathologist is to develop and deliver patient assessments, individual treatment plans and therapies to address communication and swallowing disorders in clients, by working with other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the maximisation of the client's abilities by using the skills a client has and working to develop or improve areas of deficit.

Requirements;
•Relevant degree in the Speech Pathology or similar, accompanied by current practicing membership or eligibility for practicing membership to Speech Pathology Australia
• Experienced or a strong understanding of Neuro Affirming Approach/Practice
• Demonstrated ability to comply with the profession’s code of ethics and function in accordance with legislation affecting speech pathology practice and all professional development requirements for maintenance of membership with SPA
• Highly motivated and passionate about supporting children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Experienced or a strong understanding of Neuro Affirming Approach/Practice
• Ability to be an advocate for clients and to teach, support and guide carers, teachers, and support workers at schools, day programs and community organisations (as needed)
• Ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritise work, and remain calm and collected under stressful situations, such as crisis intervention
• Current NSW Working With Children and National Police clearance for paid employment
• Current valid NSW driver's licence and use of own vehicle
