How will I help?
The Senior Cloud Engineer will spearhead the adoption of Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) and Microsoft Intune, focusing on optimising and securing the Workplace digital environment. This role is responsible for designing and implementing cloud-based solutions that enhance identity and device management, ensuring secure access and operational efficiency. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies. The Senior Cloud Engineer will drive Workplace towards a future-proof, agile IT infrastructure, ready to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving digital landscape and the modern management of Westpac's footprint of approximately 50,000 devices.
The selected candidate will join a team of adept third-level engineers, each with their unique blend of skills and areas for growth. While the team operates primarily out of Sydney, we are open to candidates from across Australia, emphasising the importance of finding the perfect fit for our group. Our inclusive approach ensures that geographical boundaries do not limit our search for talent, aiming to integrate a new member who can both contribute to and thrive within our skilled engineering team.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Documentation and Design of emerging technologies, both Detailed and High Level.
- Presentation of suggested designs and solutions to our internal review boards.
- Implementation of the suggested designs.
- Mentoring of staff with potentially lesser skills in some areas.
- Taking complete ownership of end-to-end solutions, from design to implementation.
- Maintain Westpac risk profile within the accepted appetite.
- Ensure reporting and full acceptable, Agile, Dev-Ops, and security processes are built into each design.
- Ensure emerging technology is delivered in an agreed timeframe, in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Building in design thinking and ensuring the Customer Experience is at the forefront of every solution.

What do I need?
Required Skills:
- 3 Years Proven Experience with Azure Cloud Services.
- Proven experience with solution Design.
- Expert level knowledge in PowerShell.
- Experience with DevOps pipeline toolsets such as, Bamboo, Jira, Ansible, AWX.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with other Cloud providers such as AWS.
- Relevant Industry Cloud Certifications.
- Expertise in Cloud Security and Compliance.
