Our Role
Are you looking for a dynamic role? Pacific Energy is growing fast so we require a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst who will be responsible for management and mitigation of all financial aspects of Projects/Business opportunities. Reporting to the GM Corporate Finance you will be responsible for the financial risk and performance oversight for the Group’s project tendering activities.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Project Pricing Evaluation
- Conduct financial modelling and analysis to evaluate new project feasibility.
- Perform financial due diligence for potential acquisitions.
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve the financial input and analysis of the Group’s commercial project pricing models, that form the basis of project pricing and investment decisions.
Investment Decision Making
- Identify of financial risks of projects and documenting in Board approval document
- Input to Board approval documents for investment decisions for projects, including liaising with Commercial and Finance teams for relevant information.
- Respond to queries from QIC / Board / senior management on queries related to projects and information regarding pricing and capital allocation for projects.
Business Partnering
- Manage and mitigate all financial risk and performance aspects of Projects/Business opportunities including but not limited to, financial reporting implications (eg: revenue recognition, lease v BOO, EBITDA impacts), financial risks (ie: foreign exchange exposures, debt/equity funding needs) and tax aspects.
- Manage financing modelling of business opportunities including gearing and funding options.
- Work with Commercial team to optimise value for Pacific Energy shareholders, advocating value accretive options to be considered in arriving at a final proposal for support.
About You:
- Professional Degree (Engineering, Business, Accounting, Finance)
- Preference to have completed or working towards CFA
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in financial modelling, analysis, and investment evaluation
- Advanced financial modelling skills
- Analytical thinker with the ability to critically analyse business activities and its impact of financial performance.
