Your new role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this position will see you leading an Analyst. You will be responsible for providing decision support, market research, data-based insights and financial analysis of performance. You are a key stakeholder within the business, who will present information both internally and externally to senior leadership. As your new company focusses on continuous improvement, you (as well as the team) will be responsible for finding the most efficient ways of working, both from a process and systems point of view. Key responsibilities include: capital expenditures, business cases, evaluating new tenders/ supply & demand pricing/ business development activities, market research on a global level of competitors and key customers, preparing board papers, periodic reports and business strategy.
What you'll need to succeed
As this is such a senior and critical role within the business, the right person is crucial. To be successful in this role, you will require a strong academic background, with significant experience working in a fast-paced environment (resources sector will be highly regarded). You will be a team player who has leadership capabilities and is a continuous learner with a positive mindset. Your existing skills include building detailed financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, business cases, decision support. You will require highly polished presentation skills, with confidence in presenting to all levels of the business, including executives. You are hands-on in the detail, results focused and driven/ambitious. Experience as a Commercial Analyst/Senior Commercial Analyst or Commercial Manager will be highly regarded, along with experience using SAP.
