The Star Brisbane, positioned at the heart of the new Queen's Wharf Brisbane precinct, will be Australia's newest entertainment and leisure destination. Commencing a staged opening in 2024. The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop and socialise in the river city.
The Senior Commercial Manager role reports directly to the Head of Commercial Hospitality and offers an extraordinary opening to maximise profitability through strategic sales and trade marketing activities. This is a fantastic opportunity where you can put your skills and knowledge to the test to deliver a thrilling new era for hospitality in Brisbane!
A few of your responsibilities:
Drive sales performance for The Star Brisbane, across key market segments.
Lead Group Sales Managers to maximise profitability through strategic sales and trade marketing activities.
Develop new business opportunities and revenue streams while expanding market segments
Enhance and develop The Star Brisbane's reputation and market share in the hospitality industry.
Collaborate with the Head of Commercial Sales Hospitality to sell The Star's product range, boost occupancy, and optimise yield opportunities across the property and venues.
What we are looking for:
Extensive experience in sales gained within a high-volume hospitality or related industry.
Extensive experience in selling principles and sales targeting
Demonstrated ability in exceeding budgets while leading and growing a team capability
A strong leader that inspires and energises others
Effective listening abilities and be able to make strong judgement calls.
About You
You will need to demonstrate strategic planning, sales and cost management. You have effective leadership in people management coupled with effective communication and the ability to influence multiple stakeholder streams.
You will also play a key role partnering with the project team, ensuring that all pre-opening work for the property is seamless and allows The Star Brisbane to open on time, achieving its business objectives to the highest standards.
