Senior Commercial Manager

About the role
We have an opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager to join our Defence and Social Infrastructure pre-contracts team. In this position you will play a key role in successfully tendering major opportunities including developing bid strategy and leading the commercial workstream which incorporates forming contractual positions, risk and opportunity assessment and pricing deliverables.
This position is a full-time permanent opportunity with flexible working spending time in the office and from home. Options to base out of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Auckland offices.
About You
· Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or associated relevant experience.
· Commercial experience in a relevant industry and bid experience within defence and facilities management sectors would be an advantage.
· Experience working with contracts and an understanding of relevant financial drivers.
· Solid knowledge of risk management.
· Understanding of pre-contract commercial activities.
· Pro-active approach, self-motivated individual with a desire to be successful in work winning activities.
· Enjoy working with internal stakeholders and bid team members as well as external customers.
What you'll be doing
· Identify contract specific risks and opportunities including legal, environmental, operational, safety and other relevant aspects.
· Lead risk and opportunity review process for complex contracts, identify associated costs and implement mitigation strategies.
· Design innovative commercial models that optimise profit while providing value add/continuous improvement to clients.
· Lead tender negotiations and assist in contract awards.
· Oversee cost model build to ensure optimal position is reached for tender success.
