The Opportunity

Visy Logistics, part of the wider Visy Group, has global logistics capabilities to service our expansive ANZ manufacturing operations and our growing 3PL customer base. Visy Logistics has significant growth objectives, and a key responsibility of this role is to develop logistics solutions to underpin our growth aspirations.

With a passion for business intelligence, creative problem solving and the ability to think analytically you will help Visy Logistics solve some of the most pressing challenges facing our organization. You will work across multiple business units, collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop innovative cost-effective solutions.

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager and based at our office in Eastern Creek (NSW), you will manage the Tender and Pricing portfolio with a prime focus on Intermodal, Bulk along with Transport and Warehouse business units.

As the Senior Commercial and Pricing Analyst, you will focus on the design and delivery of standardized, global commercial best practices that maximize sales growth & profitable revenue, including programs to consistently improve pricing, salesforce effectiveness, sector & segment focus, product mix, customer selection and focus, and supplier management.

Your Key Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Pricing Strategy Mastermind: Formulate competitive end-to-end pricing and tender management including modelling & analysis and support all sales channels with end-to-end pricing solutions.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Challenge and validate the proposed local solutions from overseas country operations and provide post-tender/quote outcome analysis for management review.
  • Collaborative Partnership: Work with Procurement & Operational teams, develop, implement, and maintain (route-specific) pricing strategies and minimum rate guidelines for countries to follow in ensuring best offerings that benefit business growth, improved revenue and margins.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Keep a finger on the pulse of industry trends and competitor pricing strategies to maintain our competitive edge. Also analyse contract performance against VID, loading factor vs allocation commitment, loss making lanes (investment).
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor pricing performance, evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies, and provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Customer Contract Management – Assist in contract negotiations by providing data-backed insights on pricing structures and profitability. Also manage clarification wrt disputes on rates, capacity commitments for existing and new customers.

To be considered you must have:

  • A strong background in commercial analysis and financial modelling within the transportation industry (preferably both rail & road).
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience in driving revenue growth and profitability through pricing initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience using SAP, Advanced Excel, Power BI would be advantageous.
  • Strong project management and report writing and presentation skills
