THE ROLE
Our
Power Projects Team
is looking for a Lead Commissioner to expand our commissioning capabilities. This role will be based in our
Melbourne Office , and you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise by applying engineering skills, processes, and procedures to manage the commissioning activities for Power Projectsacross the Eastern Seaboard.
The role covers the entire commissioning process, including the creation of all necessary documentation from pre-commissioning to commissioning, and provides technical support, advice, and mentoring on all testing and commissioning-related matters during the feasibility and estimating phases of the project lifecycle.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
Lead and manage the onsite commissioning of primary plant, secondary protection, control, and communication systems, ensuring correct installation and testing. Assist in developing and implementing the commissioning procedures, managing the project commissioning plans, and delivering the commissioning documentation. Provide technical commentary, estimate and specialist discipline engineering support during the project tendering stage. End-to-end oversight and involvement in the EPC delivery model. Plan and support the project commissioning phase, including client, internal and external stakeholders. ABOUT YOU
Previous experience in Testing and commissioning greenfield/brownfield electrical transmission and distribution substations, preferably with two years as testing and commissioning lead. Qualifications in an Electrical trade, Electrical Engineering or similar. Sound understanding of Electrical Engineering principles, transmission lines, bus bars, transformer protection fundamentals, schemes, and experience in generation, renewables (wind and solar), traction, transmission, and distribution. Experience in testing and commissioning of primary and secondary electrical equipment and protection systems, including SCADA and communications in High Voltage Substations Proficiency in the latest primary/ secondary system testing techniques/equipment such as Omicron/Doble, experience with 61850 and advanced testing methods will be highly regarded.
