people2people are partnering with a government owned organisation who are looking for a Senior Communications Specialist to join their team for a 6-month period based in Brisbane’s CBD.About the roleReporting to the Manager of External Communications, the purpose of this role is to coordinate and implement corporate communication activities and provide advice and recommendations to internal stakeholders on industry best practice. This 6-month opportunity offers a hybrid work week and will see you responsible for:
- Work with the Communication team to achieve divisional and corporate objectives
- Assist in the development and manage the implementation of internal and external and online communication activities
- Collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve group and strategic objectives
- Translation of legislation, issues and policies into digestible social media content
- Provide strategic advice on creating a meaningful and engaging user experience within online services
- Develop and implement internal communication activities using a range of different channels
- Help update and maintain website and intranet content
- Identify opportunities for improvement in stakeholder relations and provide engagement advice to industry segment managers
- Assist with the production of regular corporate communications materials e.g. annual reports publications
- Tertiary qualifications in communication, public relations, or journalism
- Demonstrated communication experience, both internal and external
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Project management skills
- Ability to liaise with senior managers to develop and maintain multi-channel communications plans
- Ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritise and meet deadlines
- Strong computer literacy skills – Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and MS Office Suite
- The ability to remain proactive and autonomous within a well-established team
- Display high levels of accountability
