About the Command
The Transformation Office, within the Office of the Commissioner, Queensland Corrective Services (QCS), is responsible for leading the planning and delivery of the QCS' portfolio and reform agenda and comprises of:
- Portfolio Delivery
- Strategic Transformation
- Portfolio Change
- Women's System Reform Program Management Office (PMO)
As Senior Advisor, Communication and Change you will be a key contact point for communication, change and engagement activities that will support implementation of the reform program. You will ensure consistent and high-quality Communication and Change products the QCS and whole-of government reform objective and work collaboratively with Project Manager, the Project Director, the Communication Team within the Transformation Office, staff, and stakeholders. You will contribute your capabilities to the overall women's system reform objectives. With an understanding of business change and complex human service delivery, your primary responsibility will be to manage the PMO's change and communications from concept to completion, research and edit content (speeches, media releases, presentations, newsletters, and other collateral) and ensure they are accurate, well-researched and delivered to achieve understanding across a diverse range of audiences.
Liaising with the Transformation Office Communications Team and QCS Media and Communications Unit you will proactively collaborate to ensure alignment of reform activities to the broader strategic objectives of QCS, identifying opportunities preemptively to promote the Women's System Reform and champion the achievements through internal communication channels and increase awareness across the organisation.
Is this role for you?
Do you have experience working within a multi-disciplinary team, delivering a wide range of communication, change, and engagement activities for multiple, complex, and large-scale projects? You will have a strong understanding of Communication and Change requirements to achieve system-level reform, and the ability to align written and verbal communication with agency strategy. You will have negotiation skills and attention to detail to ensure all program communication is high quality and meets corporate standards. Your expertise will reach a wide range of audiences, and your excellent time management, organisation, and experience will be critical to achieving project delivery. You will have experience developing and implementing
communication, change and engagement strategies, using a range of change tools and channels that are fit for purpose to meet target audiences including staff, QCS executives, government and non-government stakeholders and women in our custody and care.
Formal qualifications in marketing, communications, graphic design or related discipline will be highly regarded.
