The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is South Australia’s independent environment protection regulator. The organisation works to protect, restore and improve the environment through the risk-based regulation of pollution, waste, noise and radiation. The EPA works closely with industry, the community and government to protect the unique natural environment while supporting economic growth and improving wellbeing. The EPA is responsible for the administration of the Environment Protection Act 1993 (EP Act) and the Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021 (RPC Act) and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.About the Role
The Senior Community Engagement Adviser works in conjunction with the Principal Adviser Community Engagement to implement Community Engagement services. These services support the EPA’s priorities and the strategic objectives of keeping people informed and engaged, while building trust with stakeholders and the community. The Senior Community Engagement Adviser will work closely with EPA branches, with a particular focus on site contamination, to provide outreach capability and advice on key projects and programs. This position is required to liaise directly with members of the community to ensure genuine and effective engagement is achieved.What the EPA Offers

- IAP2 Certificate in Public Participation or equivalent.
- Tertiary qualifications in communication, engagement, behaviour change, or related field.
- Experience in use of website content management systems and administration of customer relationship management or Community Engagement platforms.
- Experience in maintenance of databases and use of spatial management software.Remuneration
ASO6 ($97,022 - $102,626 per annum) + 11% super to your choice of superfund.Contract
Ongoing contract and full time (37.5 hours per week).Special Conditions
- This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. A current National Police Clearance is essential.
- The incumbent will occasionally be required to travel to sites in country areas and interstate.
- The incumbent may be required to work out of hours and as the need arises.
