A temporary full-time position is available at Varsity College for a Senior Computer Assistant working 38hrs/week over 5 days on our secondary campus.
This position will commence as soon as possible until 21 June 2024, unless otherwise determined.
As the Senior Computer Assistant you will undertake maintenance and repair services, assist in managing the operations of equipment and provide advice on the use of software to maximise the potential of computing technology in schools.

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic person with excellent organisational, technical and time management skills who enjoys working with a range of different people and technologies in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. Our ideal candidate would be someone who shows initiative and takes personal pride in accomplishing objectives and meeting deadlines both individually and as part of a team.
Key tasks and responsibilities undertaken as part of this role include:
- Daily troubleshooting student and staff devices;
- Independent troubleshooting of college IT resources such as laptops, printers, audio visual equipment, networking components and servers;
- Perform daily rollovers of college administrational software such as IDAttend and OrchestrateIT;
- Assist with the ongoing maintenance of learning management platforms;
- Provide proactive maintenance to college IT equipment;
- Work with vendors to make sure staff and student devices are repaired to expected standards.

- Demonstrated skills and experience in the operation, installation, maintenance and routine repair of a range of information technology equipment and how you could contribute your expertise to achieve outcomes for Varsity College.
- Demonstrated understanding of a school work environment and your ability to resolve problems and provide sound advice on purchase and enhancement options for computing hardware and software products that align with college needs.
- Ability to provide high level technical advice and support to teaching staff, corporate staff, and students to resolve problems associated with school computer devices, facilities and other technical issues.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to staff, students, regional office and external stakeholders.
