The Credits Supply Taskforce will also operate the Biodiversity Credit Supply Fund. The Fund is a $106.7M investment that is assisting to boost the supply of biodiversity credits to support critical projects such as renewable energy zones, regional infrastructure initiatives and the expansion of housing and manufacturing.
About You
This is an exciting opportunity to support the work of the Credits Supply Taskforce and be part of a team responsible for managing the development, planning and delivery of conservation programs across NSW and engage with and support landholders to establish voluntary biodiversity stewardship agreements.
You will be adaptable and flexible in managing competing priorities and be an effective communicator with a wide and diverse group of stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in survey and assessment of vegetation, flora and fauna, consistent with the requirements for accreditation as an assessor using the Biodiversity Assessment Methodology.
- Experience in regional program delivery including landholder liaison and engagement.
- Experience in implementation and operational delivery of successful biodiversity conservation programs and Conservation Assessments at property level/site scales.
- Demonstrated competence in using Geographic Information Systems software to develop, manage, query and display spatial data relevant to property level management plans.
- Sound knowledge and demonstrated understanding of current state and national ecological, threatened species and biodiversity conservation policies, frameworks, legislation and reforms and of conservation planning and assessment approaches.
- A degree in a relevant ecological or environmental science discipline.
- A valid Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel including overnight trips.

Participation in the NSW Biodiversity Offsets Scheme (BOS) and the BCT’s private land conservation (PLC) programs
All new employees with an existing defined interest in the BOS will be required to disclose their personal (or a close family member’s) participation to ensure potential conflicts are managed appropriately. In some circumstances this may require divestment of the interest.
The BCT also has restrictions on staff participation in its funded PLC programs. No additional funding, beyond that already agreed to by the BCT, may be sought or approved during time as a BCT employee or for a 12-month period following termination of employment.
