The Gallagher Workplace Risk (WPR) team is seeking a qualified Safety Consultant to join our team. Reporting to the Practice Leader, the purpose of this role is to work with the Workplace Risk team providing consulting services on WHS management. Working with a wide range of clients from diverse industries enabling you to assist them implement a WHS service solutions to suit individual needs. You will join a highly skilled team of safety professionals working in a dynamic, positive and goal driven environment. This role offers competitive base salary plus incentives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Development of WHS management systems and processes including WHS policies and procedures, WHS risk management improvement strategies and delivery of WHS training and information sessions.
- Conducting WHS management audits and reviews, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Use of and involvement in WHS information management platforms used by our clients to record and manage their WHS documents, records and other WHS information and data.
- Conducting Serious Incident Investigations
- Liaising with clients' representatives, WHS Regulators, legal providers, other third parties relevant to WHS management.
- Travelling to sites to meet with clients to discuss their needs and requirements in relation to WHS
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Safety Consultant who has been in a similar role plus:
- Bachelor's Degree in OSH, Organisational Psychology, or other related discipline or Post Graduate Degree in OSH
- Considerable WHS experience leading projects & services performance initiatives
- Demonstrate ability to develop strategic vision and motivation teams to fulfil the objectives
- Certificate or other related course in any other safety related area (e.g. Auditing, Hygiene etc.)
- Lead Auditor or working towards registration with Exemplar Global
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation
- Knowledge of good practice WHS management approaches including WHS Management Systems
- Knowledge and skills in contemporary WHS management practices including hazard management, incident investigation, risk assessment, safety communication, training and people engagement processes
- Knowledge of workers' compensation arrangements and impact of WHS management.
- Well-developed verbal communication and interpersonal interaction skills
- Strong writing skills including the ability to prepare and adapt reports to suit client needs
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to complete work within the identified timeframes when required due to urgency or peak demand periods
