Competitive JD Ross Energy are seeking a highly skilled Contract Manager on a fulltime basis for our NSW based client. The immediate project you will be joining will be able to provide up to 2GB of on-demand generating capacity to the grid. They are looking for someone to provide guidance and leadership to develop, implement, and drive proactive contract/claim management and risk mitigation strategies in accordance with business' objectives.Responsibilities
- Facilitating the contractual and commercial implementation of contracts including reporting and other contractual deliverables. This will include undertaking detailed contract reviews and advising on how to interpret and apply key contract provisions on the day-to-day operational clauses of the contract.
- Assisting in developing mitigation strategies in line with the contract terms, this will include proactively providing recommendations and advice on how to avoid any additional cost and, where this is not possible, how to minimize the costs of legitimate claims.
- Supporting in negotiations of claims and variations with contractors including the preparation of notes of advice and commercial drafting.
- Advising on key commercial risks from an O&M perspective for supply contracts on emerging projects.
- Ensuring best practices and processes are implemented and applied in contract management ensuring involvement and interfacing with key company functions such as Purchasing, Insurance, Financial, Legal, delivery of the project's interests in negotiating with the contractors; etc.
- Engineering, Contract Management, or any other commercially orientated qualification.
- Have significant experience in contract management or procurement roles on large-scale construction projects.
- Experience in commercial and contractual aspects of engineering.
- Commercially savvy with strong problem-solving skills and have an analytical approach.
- Confidence in influencing the agenda and driving outcomes.
