Hays is partnered with a Zinc Refinery who is looking for an experienced Contracts Advisor to join their team today!

Your new role 

The Senior Contracts Advisor will proactively manage relationships with current and potential service providers and work closely with Maintenance & Operation and other staff to optimise the life cycle cost, quality of services and tender management process.

Key Accountabilities

• Proactively manage relationships and contractual arrangements with contractors.
• Oversee specific contracts as nominated by Management including co-ordination with departments, tracking of costs, analysis of contractor activities.
• Organise a tendering and quotation process including documentation, price comparisons, negotiation, selection, approval and placing of orders.
• Negotiate contract terms with contractors in consultation with the Superintendent and Legal Unit in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Check contractor/supplier invoices for accuracy of calculation and correctness of contract rates
• Set up and maintain repetitive service agreements.
• Develop presentation materials / report for management.
• Review / analyse information and identify opportunities for improvement / cost saving.

What you'll need to succeed 

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following attributes and skills:

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply tendering and contracting processes.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
• Working knowledge of JD Edwards or similar program.
• Demonstrated the ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks/projects.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated experience in contract management and/or experience in construction, metalliferous refining, mining or heavy industry.
