Located 11km from the Townsville CBD, Sun Metals is one of the most technologically advanced zinc refineries in the world, producing Special High Grade Zinc metal, Zinc Alloy metal and by-products of Sulfuric Acid, Copper, Cadmium, and Zinc Ferrite. Our process involves Roasting, Leaching, Purification, Electrolysis and Casting with sales to both domestic and international markets.

About the role
Sun Metals is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Contracts Advisor to coordinate and manage all contract management framework activity, provide contract management advice, and contribute to enhance contract functions including but not limited to staff training on processes, continuous improvements to contracts and ensure alignment with legislative requirements.
You will manage end-to-end contracting processes from tender development, submission, evaluation and award through to monitoring performance against key performance indicators and contract conditions, reporting, and delivering corrective action when necessary to ensure consistent customer service is received.
Your effective oversight of contracts will facilitate the implementation of cost savings within the supply chain and timely and successful execution of cost improvements within agreed parameters. Ideally, your experience will be within metalliferous refining, mining or heavy industry.
You will maintain awareness of current and upcoming business activities and work closely with internal customers to assist with planning and scoping requirements, source appropriate and competitive options and ensure compliance related to contract regulations, legislation and site procedures.
Based in Brisbane, you will forge a strong relationship with the local teams but will provide support across the group and may be required to travel to other sites.
About you
This position is suited to a self-motivated person with demonstrated professional knowledge of contract and relevant contract law. You will have the confidence and capability to interpret contractual terms/conditions and provide advice related to contractual risk or improvements.
Your experience in commercial and contractual negotiations coupled with your well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritise competing workloads will ensure your success in delivering optimal solutions. Ideally, you will have experience with JD Edwards or similar Contract Management System.
With a high level of ethics, you will positively represent our company among vendors, contractors and the local community. You enjoy working in a team, can work independently when required and have sound written and verbal communication skills.
