The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Contracts and Procurement Officer to join the Procurement Team on a Full-Time basis. This role plays a vital part in fulfilling the HBF Promise by driving HBF’s contracts and procurement activities through the strategic sourcing processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for subsequent contract establishment and maintenance to achieve the best possible value, following total cost of ownership practices that benefit HBF and its members.

About You

In this role, we are looking for an accomplished Contracts and Procurement Officer with a minimum of 3 years' experience in procurement or contract management. Your expertise should encompass a solid understanding of contracting, contract and commercial law, as well as familiarity with the procurement procedures and policies typically employed by large businesses. Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills, coupled with adept negotiation capabilities and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.

Essential:

• 3+ years of experience in a business administration, procurement, or contract management role.
• Working knowledge of contracting, contract law, and commercial law.
• Familiarity with procurement procedures and policies employed by large businesses.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, along with sound negotiating abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in contract management systems and related processes.
• Excellent analytical skills with a proven ability to problem-solve and adapt to new situations.
• Demonstrated time management skills, prioritising workloads to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently when required.

Desirable:

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
• Familiarity with the Technology One Financial system.
• Experience in the financial services industry or a high-volume financial transaction environment.
• Working knowledge of an insurance company.
• Experience in implementing innovative continuous process improvements.
• Competence in MS Office programs, particularly Word and Excel.
