THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Controls & Automation Engineer to join our high-performing and innovative R&PD Team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Process & Design Technology, you will be responsible for the delivery of engineering projects from concept to implementation. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing Engineering SME support, guidance and leadership in Electrical, Controls & Automation disciplines to various projects in concept and feasibility of new technologies 
• Delivering project engineering and project management for a range of R&D engineering projects
• Lead & Participate in planning, preparing and running trials of new and existing equipment, technologies and products.
• Work with vendors to deliver scalable solutions from concept designs and ideas.
• Lead & Participate in fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, troubleshooting and process refinement of existing equipment and technologies.
• Develop / Maintain job and technical knowledge to maintain expert level in relevant discipline.
• Collaborate effectively across the business and functions. Work closely with vendors and suppliers to deliver the best solution to the business.
• Coach and Mentor junior engineers and scientists sharing expertise and information with others

 
ABOUT YOU – WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Essential

• Demonstrated experience in innovation, prototyping and demonstrating new ideas quickly, safely and developing new manufacturing technologies
• Demonstrated ability in the reading and generating of technical engineering documentation including detailed design criteria, P&ID, Process Requirements, Process Descriptions, Manuals and Drawings.
• Understanding of PLC systems & mechatronics design

  
Desirable

• Preferred 8+ years of relevant experience in project engineering specifically in prototyping, pilot scale processes & developing new manufacturing technology.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Process/Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (or related)
• Knowledge of vision systems is an advantage
• Experience in building materials or heavy manufacturing preferred
