About the Role

In this role you will manage a small team that works with the wider community to ensure Council's Parks Assets are efficiently and effectively managed to meet their recreational needs. You will use your skills in stakeholder management to ensure internal and external stakeholders are well engaged and working towards achieving Council’s goals, including the City of Ryde’s Sport and Recreation Strategy and Active in Ryde program.

In this role you will manager internal operational Service Level Agreements, oversee bookings and allocations of sportsgrounds and passive parks, develop and review Council Reports, project briefs and other internal documentation. You will represent Council on relevant committees and forums and act as the staff facilitator for the City of Ryde Sport & Recreation (and wheeled sports) Advisory Committee.

About You

To effectively undertake the role and successfully manage the use of parks infrastructure, you will have experience in Parks Asset management and administration of maintenance management systems. You will also have experience in coordinating and providing leadership to multidisciplinary teams and be able to review and update operational policies and procedures relating to use of sportsground, parks and associated building facilities.

In addition, you will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Leisure Management, Sport and Recreation or Recreation Management or similar, or have significant relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in managing public land or facilities, demand management, and client side project delivery
  • Demonstrated experience and capability acting as the client in a diverse works program of capital and non-capital projects
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating services undertaken by others for sportsground, parks and associated facilities
  • Ability to prepare maintenance and repairs programs including capital project briefs
  • Ability to achieve effective outcomes when working with stakeholders with competing interests
  • An understanding of program delivery requirements in the sport and recreation sector
  • An understanding of occupancy agreements and the key requirements in a local government context
  • Current Drivers’ Licence

Your commencing annual salary will range from $101,873.52 to $132,435.58 + Superannuation + leaseback, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
