Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, this is a technically-focused role and the successful candidate should possess strong consolidation skills and a sound understanding of the Accounting Standards and related disclosures required by large publicly-listed organisations.This is a maternity leave contract position for a period of up to 12 months.About the role
As the Senior Corporate Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in the team by presenting high quality financial reports and accounting papers to the Audit & Risk Committee. You will review and prepare monthly consolidation journals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, you will assist in the preparation of the half-year report and annual report to an external release standard.Responsibilities include;
- Assist in the preparation of the note disclosures in the half-year report and the annual report of Harvey Norman Holdings Limited
- Assist in managing the half-year review and year-end audit process with the external auditors
- Review monthly financial statements of wholly owned subsidiaries to ensure that transactions have been completely and accurately recorded and movements from prior periods appear reasonable
- Prepare monthly joint venture cashbooks to ensure all joint venture transactions have been completely and accurately recorded
- Use external Lease software to prepare monthly AASB 16 lease journals
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, analysis and commentary for distribution and review at monthly board meetings
- Involvement in ad hoc analysis and projects as required by the business
- An accounting degree combined with a CA qualification
- Excellent knowledge of accounting standards
- Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong job ownership and time management skills with the ability to work towards and meet deadlines in a high pressured environment
- Proficient with the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher
- Prior experience with SAP S/4HANA general ledger system is preferred
