Information Security Services are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Officer to join their team on a permanent full-time basis.
The Senior Cyber Security Officer reports to the Manager, Information Security Services, Enterprise Technology Services, Information and Technologies Branch, People and Corporate Services Division. As the Senior Cyber Security Officer, you will:
- Proactively contribute to safeguarding the department from security intrusions, threats, weaknesses and exploits to support the effective delivery of information security services to staff and students.
- Work to resolve complex cyber security issues for departmental users within reasonable timeframes and ensuring agreed service levels are met.
About the Role:
Responsibilities include:
- Provide guidance and support to the business in relation to the department's information security services.
- Provide guidance to security operations team members and assist them in resolving cyber security support requests and issues.
- Review current and proposed information systems for compliance with the department's obligations and adherence to overall security strategy (including legislation, regulatory, contractual, and agreed standards/policies) and provide recommendations for correction of information security issues.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of policies, standards, procedures and documentation for information security.
- Review actual and potential security breaches and vulnerabilities and ensure they are promptly and thoroughly investigated, making recommendations for actions and control improvements.
- Ensure that information security records are accurate and complete and that requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures and service levels.
