About the Job
The Investment Data Team is a newly established operational capability within Rest’s Investments Services & Transformation group. Investment Data supports all components of data management, including the establishment and ongoing maintenance of the Investment Data Platform, a custom designed reporting and analytics environment to support the data and analytical needs for our growing Investment business.
As the Senior Data Analyst working on the private markets platform implementation, you will be responsible for sourcing and managing data feeds and providing expert analysis of Investment data and data relationships, while seeking to identify and optimise Investment systems and data sources/flows. More broadly, you will participate in key project work and collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, to deliver support to the business for system integration, business intelligence and analytical use cases.
The Senior Data Analyst supports the team by maintaining and validating Investment data, overseeing Investment databases and systems, and assisting in Investment data projects.
The Senior Data Analyst will ensure accurate information is stored and reported, maintaining automated reconciliation and validations in REST's systems, monitoring for discrepancies, and investigating cause.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Primary focus will be working various teams, in collaboration with the project team, to document and support implementation of the data components of the private markets platform implementation.
• Understand and describe data definitions, lineage, provenance, and the data quality of critical data for the Rest private markets team.
• Develop and improve the Investment Data Platform, assuring the availability of, and trust in private markets and whole of fund data.
• Design and manage the implementation of technical specifications for data ingestion and conformance patterns to optimise persistence for reporting and analytical data sets.
• Design and manage interface agreements for internal and external investment systems, including defining data controls to ensure quality and supportability of the integration.
• Support best practice business process optimisation for the Data and Analytics operations, consistently evolving business process with technology and analytical tools.
• Collaborate with Investment teams and key stakeholders to design and produce data required to support analysis for Rest Investment business and project requests.
• Adherence to Rest delivery methodology and governance framework to ensure required artefacts are created and maintained, and that the required decision making and escalation processes are adhered to, to help achieve the required outcomes.

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and experience:

• Tertiary qualification in finance, mathematics, business, commerce, computer science or similar

Required experience, understanding or credentials including:

• 5+ years of data analysis in a data management or investment analytics function.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with data platform environments (AWS, Snowflake, Azure) and data integration technologies.
• Proven ability to drive outcomes for data quality initiatives.
• Exposure to BI and analysis technologies, PowerBI/Tableau, Python, R, Excel.
• Proficiency in SQL programming.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage meaningfully with key stakeholders in the Front Office & Investment Analytics teams.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Eager to use your expertise to help make a positive difference to every Rest member's financial future.
• Experience working in Investment Management organisations, ideally with experience in dealing with front, middle and back office functions
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate a proven record of success in resolving complex issues.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and priorities workloads

Desired experience, understanding or credentials including:

• Familiar with Private Market and/or Responsible Investment data assets and relevant data management frameworks.
