Reporting to the Analytics Lead, the Senior Data Analyst is responsible for providing robust analysis to assist with the development and execution of data and analytics initiatives within the Information Technology team aimed at improving WesTrac's internal & external customer experience.
The role includes working with various teams to enhance processes, systems, and data through tasks like reporting, analytics, and business case development. The goal is to use scientific methods to extract valuable insights from both structured and unstructured data, supporting business decisions and optimising performance.
The position also requires project management skills to ensure timely and budget-friendly implementation. Overall, the role is crucial for the Analytics team to support customers in reducing operating costs and enhancing productivity and safety.
Location: South Guildford, WA
Roster: Monday - Friday, 8.5 hour days
To be successful the following is required:
- Tertiary qualification in a related field (e.g. Data Science, IT, Finance or Business disciplines); OR significant industry experience
- Demonstrated business acumen and strategic thinking
- A collaborative team player with a strong emphasis on cooperation, business engagement and stakeholder management
- Proficient in exploratory data analysis, statistics, and the safe and scalable business application of AI techniques
- A good understanding of data modelling best practice and how this drives analysis and development of data products such as reports and applications
- Demonstrated experience with managing priorities
- Innate curiosity for promoting operational excellence and a successful history of driving impactful change initiatives
- Expertise in formulating compelling recommendations and spearheading the implementation of continuous improvement and process management methodologies aligned with business architecture principles
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, encompassing written, verbal, and interpersonal abilities
- Experience with the Palantir Foundry product suite highly regarded
