About the role:
Data Engineers in Water Corporation are part of DataOps team with the primary goal of helping business intelligence, data science, advanced analytics and data governance teams across the business be more effective and productive with their data and analytics initiatives.
You’ll be part of a team that plays a vital role in enabling Water Corporation to support future generations. Help us work towards our sustainability goals by building a highly automated, reliable and hyper productive end to end Data platform, ensuring teams have the data and supporting analytics capabilities they need.

Key Skills & experience:
There are a few things that we’ll look for in your CV;
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Extensive commercial software development experience is essential.
- Advanced development skills and experience in Python is essential.
- Advanced skills and experience of data acquisition, ETL processes and Data Warehouses is essential.
- Advanced skills and experience working with AWS services such as Glue, RedShift, S3, CDK, SageMaker, etc. is essential.
- Experience in Big data analysis using PySpark is desirable.
- Having knowledge of MLOps is desirable.
- Experience developing, implementing and trouble-shooting production-grade, highly scalable data pipelines in AWS environment.
- Knowledge and experience working in Scrum / XP / DevOps software teams using modern software development and collaboration platforms such as Jira and Git Hub or Code Commit is essential.
What the role will involve
- Contribute to design, and lead implementation of data platform and frameworks.
- Build and validate data pipelines, datasets and ensure data quality, using Big Data and analytics to support production-grade data products in AWS.
- Lead innovation through exploration, benchmarking, making recommendations and implementing Big Data technologies.
- Develop and implement strategies for backup and recovery, and data population and migration.
- Oversee and execute testing and validation, to support accuracy of data transformations and data verification.
- Proactively analyse the production data product framework to identify opportunities for improvements and make recommendations.
- Coach and mentor others on data platform design, development and support
