In the role of Senior Delivery Manager, you'll be responsible for leading a cross functional team in the provision of full-service business and technology project delivery ensuring that the projects, enhancements and support requests follow the defined Agile methodology in an effective way to ensure the delivery of desired business outcomes working closely with key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation. This is crucial role that involves engaging with external stakeholders and coordinating complex initiatives spanning multiple teams, value streams, and stakeholders
Your day in the life of a Senior Delivery Manager at Optus
- Coordinating and driving portfolio initiatives utilising agile ways of working, values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver high quality business outcomes.
- Developing business cases and working with key stakeholders to implement approved initiatives.
- Achieving outcomes of assigned initiatives through close collaboration with key stakeholders, squad members and Delivery Managers.
- Articulating and representing strategically aligned team plans at a portfolio/program level.
- Taking ownership of large, complex pieces of work and leading through complexity to achieve results.
- Identify and manage potential agile delivery risks, developing mitigation strategies and supporting change management efforts to ensure successful adoption and utilisation of new or enhanced capabilities across multiple teams and programs.
- Managing multiple complex dependencies external to the team and across large programs of work.
- Adapting to various methodologies quickly to support agile delivery.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Encouraging knowledge sharing across multiple teams and programs of work
Your skills to pay the bills
- Strong experience in agile delivery roles, such as Program Manager, Delivery Manager, or Senior Iteration Manager.
- Previous experience working within a customer-focused team in a digital/online and custom development environment.
- Demonstrated success in directly managing large and sophisticated programs together with proven track record in successfully leading a delivery team in matrix reporting environment
- Excellent delivery background of senior project or program delivery roles.
- Ability to articulate and represent multiple team plans that are strategically aligned.
- Proven ability to build and navigate relationships with senior leaders across the business.
- In-depth knowledge of one or more Agile frameworks acquired through practical experience.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and facilitation skills.
- Proactive promoter of agile best practices and a growth mindset.
- Tertiary qualification in IT/computer science or a related business discipline.
- Agile certification
- Working knowledge of Atlassian Jira and Confluence. Jira Align knowledge highly desirable
