About the Role
As the Senior Demand Planner, you will play a pivotal role in driving our business forward by ensuring accurate demand forecasting and effective collaboration across various departments.
A Day in the life of a Senior Demand Planner
Coordinate and maintaining a forecast of a valid demand plan covering a rolling 24-month horizon for all items within your portfolio of responsibility.
Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and other relevant teams to gather inputs for the demand plan.
Take ownership of the Integrated Tactical Planning (ITP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process for your respective category/channel.
Ensure cross-functional collaboration and participation in the planning process to drive alignment and decision-making.
Foster open communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, including sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance teams.
Proactively seek feedback and input from stakeholders to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of the demand planning process.
Develop the base demand plan using the most appropriate statistical forecasting algorithm and making adjustments where necessary.
Generate the new product forecast using historical substitution and like modelling/scenario planning techniques agreed upon with Marketing and Category Management.
Conduct thorough analysis of customer buying patterns using sales data, market research, and customer feedback.
Use insights gained to tailor the demand plan to meet the unique needs and preferences of different customer segments.
Effectively communicate with and engaging the Customer on operational issues.
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
Proven experience as a Demand Planner or in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of sales forecasting and demand management processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with statistical forecasting algorithms and scenario planning techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
