Due to a growing pipeline of projects, we have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Senior Development Manager to progress your career in the Master Planned Communities team in NSW.
This is a leadership role that will allow you to will work within and develop high-performance teams. To be successful you will have a strong desire and willingness to develop yourself as a leader and support the development of those around you. You will be a strong communicator and understand how to bring people in to understand the "why" whilst setting a vision to empower your teams to operate in alignment and consistency with the Stockland strategy and values.
This role is based in our Sydney office with the successful candidate having the flexibility to work between the CBD, project offices, and home.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage team of Development Managers, Assistant Development Managers and Graduates.
- Ensure superior business financial performance by driving project profitability.
- Take a leadership role to ensure a culture of cross-divisional collaboration is fostered to maximise overall profitability by leveraging Stockland's mixed-use capabilities.
- Ensure project(s) are scoped, designed and delivered to achieve required profitability.
- Providing leadership to and direction of all aspects of project delivery including: Financial performance, reporting, budgeting, risk assessment, monthly reviews and cash flow management; Awarding, managing and administering contracts; Obtaining all required current and future approvals; and Leading various aspects of the marketing and sales process.
- Monitor market and competitor activity constantly in relation to the direction and performance of the project(s), implement product changes in conjunction with members of the cross-functional project team(s) when applicable to maintain competitiveness.
- Engage directly with and manage senior level relationships across Stockland with the key stakeholder groups including but not limited to: State/Local Government approval authorities, consultants, contractors, community groups/stakeholders and Builder Partners to achieve required outcomes in a manner that enhances the image and reputation of Stockland.
- Provide strategic insight into the approvals process to futureproof the delivery pipeline.
- Ensure professional and timely management of customer issues.
- Ensure project delivery is consistent with the approved LTF budget for the current FYHSE.
- Ensure all relevant HSE procedures/processes are implemented at a portfolio/multiple project level.
About You
- We are looking for a high performing Senior Development Manager who displays positive leadership attributes.
- Proven experience in Land Development ideally working across multiple projects or a large project built form experience would also be beneficial
- Demonstrated experience in achieving and driving customer-focused outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and contract administration.
- Significant experience with managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong operational approach.
- Demonstrated experience in Placemaking and Visioning work highly desirable
- Proven commercial acumen.
- Track record of achieving results through influencing and relationship skills
- Degree qualified in a related discipline.
