The Company
Resourceful Recruitment has partnered with a respected electricity transmission organisation that is responsible for a high voltage electricity transmission network. They are the central link in the electricity supply chain, transporting high voltage electricity from the generators to the electricity distribution networks.
The Opportunity

Due to the ongoing growth of the organisation, there is a significant opportunity for an Senior Engineer- Generator Commissioning to join the team. You’ll be taking a leading role in the generator commissioning, monitoring and analysis of generator non-compliances, and provision of recommendations for high voltage transmission system developments.
You’ll be working across the network business unit, reviewing robust technical reports and procedures, coordinating and leading various generator connection projects, and streamlining generator commissioning processes This role also encompasses the development and implementation of power systems analysis strategies and plans for longer-term network developments, with a particular emphasis on R2 model validation, work closely with other Network Service Providers and AEMO, and assess the feasibility of new solutions to optimise cost, risk and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working on testing and commissioning of synchronous and/or asynchronous generators
• Reviewing generator commissioning processes, policies and guidelines to achieve improved team performance
• Performing R2 model validation, test plan review and HP test report review
• Ability to work across multiple large-scale commissioning projects simultaneously, while maintaining a high level of follow through and communication with stakeholders
• Lead negotiations with stakeholders to build long lasting relationships with industry groups including AEMO

Required Skills & Experience:

• Tertiary qualifications at a degree level (electrical preferred)
• Extensive experience in generator commissioning
• Sound understanding of Electrical Engineering principles, NER, GPS, generator protection, SCADA
• Communicate effectively with a range of persons including customers, suppliers, contractors and other technical experts
• Proven knowledge of the National Electricity Market and its impact on operations of the NSW HV
• Excellent knowledge of electrical networks engineering and operations
• Knowledge of the energy industry

Must haves in your application:

• PSCAD, PowerFactory, and PSS/E proficiency
• Thorough knowledge of the Australian National Electricity Rules (NEM)
• Australian working rights
