The opportunity
Reporting to the Queensland Water Lead, your primary role of Senior Engineer will span across network modelling, infrastructure planning and detailed design of water and wastewater networks. Your technical expertise in network modelling and planning will enable the efficient design and delivery of infrastructure required to support growing communities.
The role will support Tonkin’s national water program, providing network modelling and planning across metropolitan and regional Australia. The successful candidate will be an experienced engineer with a passion for network planning, who will lead projects and guide Tonkin’s growing team of hydraulic modelling staff.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be / possess:
- Degree qualification in Civil / Environmental Engineering
- 5-10 years’ experience in water & wastewater network modelling, planning and design
- Applicants with or working towards RPEQ would highly desirable
- Represent Tonkin in a Client facing technical role on water and wastewater projects with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in network planning and hydraulic modelling for pressurised and gravity systems (both water and wastewater networks), and / or experience in detailed design of complex infrastructure (i.e. pump stations, trunk mains)
- Competent in InfoWorks WS Pro and/or InfoWorks ICM software, or other relevant network modelling software (i.e. WaterGEMs)
- Provide specialist technical inputs to a range of projects to support the delivery of water and wastewater projects across the National Water Program.
- Passionate about providing exceptional service to clients
- Apply and share technical knowledge of industry relevant standards, e.g. SEQ Code, utility specific standards, WSA, etc, that will be used for project deliverables.
- Contribute to growing the Water team’s knowledge and technical understanding through knowledge transfer activities, and mentoring that builds individual, team and organisational capability in the field of water and wastewater management.
- Strong verbal & communication skills with the ability to provide direction on technical solutions.
