Job description
In the role of the Senior Engineer (Civil) you will project manage the delivery of road infrastructure projects, provide technical expertise and support to the design, planning, construction, and maintenance processes. In doing this you will ensure effective coordination of key operational activities and resources associated with project management.
Some of your responsibilities will include, but not limited to (please see role description for further details):
Undertake reviews of the contract documents, analyse offers, manage and program preconstruction, construction, and maintenance activities.
Determine the engineering requirements, including materials, critical components, and systems, involved in supporting project management and delivery.
In managing projects, you will have the responsibility to plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff that would include encouraging teamwork and fostering a positive attitude toward the achievement of outcomes.

In the role of Senior Designer (Civil) you will operate in a multidisciplinary team environment and participate in the management and delivery of planning and design projects as components of transport infrastructure projects and provide expert technical advice and support to the transport infrastructure functional areas within your location.
Some of your responsibilities will include, but not limited to (please see role description for further details):
Supervise the development of transport infrastructure design models in the strategic planning, concept, development, and implementation phases of an overarching framework for the delivery of projects.
Assist with the management and review of external design consultancies provision of design services.
Provide expert support and advice, including problem resolution, to various stakeholders on the planning and design process for successful completion of transport infrastructure projects.
The appointee may be eligible for incentives as detailed in Appendix A in the role description, through the Rural and Remote Area Incentive Scheme (RRAIS)
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
(Senior Engineer) A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
(Senior Engineer) Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position.
(Senior Designer) A minimum three-year, Sydney Accord accredited engineering degree such as a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) or recognised equivalence.
A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence
Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
