The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Secondary Design Engineer to join our NSW/QLD Engineering team and work from any of our CPP offices in SA/VIC/NSW/QLD
Senior Secondary Design Engineers hold both technical and supervisory responsibilities for the development of high-quality designs for Primary High Voltage (HV) systems. This role will encompass the full range of Secondary Design for turnkey HV projects including protection systems and SCADA/control engineering responsibilities from concept/functional design/definition, grading studies and settings, project costing and scheduling, detailed design, supervision of drafting and management of external SCADA consultants/suppliers.
You will join an in-house Design & Engineering team of over 100 highly experienced professionals and play an integral role in the successful delivery of various industry leading projects.
This opportunity has the flexibility for someone to be based in either our South Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide or Doncaster offices. Relocation assistance is available for those willing to base themselves in one of the four states.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or equivalent
- RPEQ registration
- Experience performing a similar role with substations and/or BESS projects in Australia
- Experience using either DigSilent, ETAP, CAPE, SKM Power Tools or any equivalent software to carry out protection grading / load flow studies
- Experience using vendor IED setting software from either Siemens, ABB, SEL or MiCOM.
- Experience carrying out circuitry design consisting of SLDs, schematics, LV panel layouts, cable schedules and termination schedules.
- Strong knowledge of Australian industry standards
- High-level communication and stakeholder management skills
- In addition to the skills / experiences listed above relevant experience with Powerlink and/or Transgrid will be highly regarded
