About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team. The Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in analysing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing tender submissions, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making within our construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, and a proven track record of delivering precise estimates within tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and pricing proposals for clients, including itemised lists of materials, labour costs, subcontractor bids, and overhead expenses.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market fluctuations, and regulatory requirements affecting construction costs and adjust estimating methodologies accordingly.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators to foster their professional development and ensure consistency in estimating practices.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and vendors as needed.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services, negotiate favourable terms and conditions, and manage supplier relationships effectively.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CPE) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in a senior or leadership role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to perform complex calculations and analysis under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using construction estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven track record of delivering accurate and competitive bids within deadline constraints.
  • Thorough understanding of construction methodologies, cost control principles, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
