The Team Leader - Finance will be a key member of the ANZ Finance Team and will lead the day-to-day operational activities of the team of Finance Officers. This team is responsible for the financial transaction processing needs of 3 companies across 2 countries. The Team Leader – Finance will contribute towards meeting all reporting deadlines through continual development of people and processes. The Team Leader – Finance will actively work with external stakeholders (customers and suppliers) and internal departments.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include, however not limited to:
Leading the team of Finance Officers covering:
Accounts Receivable with supervision duties
Accounts Payable with supervision duties
Debt Collecting consolidations
Intercompany payments and reconciliations
Balance sheet reconciliations
General journals
Contributions to projects
Responsibilities
Act as coach and mentor to continually improve the overall performance of the team in order to meet all applicable reporting deadlines.
Optimise the functioning of the team through effective workload distribution, cross training and upskilling, to meet group reporting deadlines and varying business needs.
Effect and maintain a high standard of communication and co-operation with all internal and external parties.
Influence and guide your team to ensure alignment of vision and execution strategies.
Ensure financial controls and company policies are implemented and followed.
Seek continual improvement through identification of processes and financial control measures that optimise business process while remaining compliant to business policies.
Improve existing debt collection procedures to minimise overdue receivables whilst maintaining the relationship with our customers.
Build a high performing team of Finance Officers that demonstrate a team culture of collaboration and inclusiveness, respecting diversity, while acting with the highest of ethics and integrity.

What You Must have
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Direct experience in actively managing a team in charge of routine finance operations
Demonstrated capability in building team performance to be outcome and results driven, while maintaining financial controls within company policy
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive ‘focussed” attitude
Superior communication skills
Excellent organisation skills
Ability to interpret company policy into routine finance control procedures
Advanced Excel, Word and Computer skills mandatory
ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP would be an advantage)
Solid accounting experience with proven reconciliation ability
