CLIENT OVERVIEW:
Our client is an RTO (Registered Training Organization) based in Cairns, providing training and support to Indigenous communities across Australia, as well as in PNG, the South Pacific, and Southeast Asia.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
As the Senior Finance Officer, you'll be responsible for overseeing financial management across the organization and delivering financial services. This role involves managing daily operations in the Finance department and providing support to Senior Program Managers for effective budget execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise bookkeeping tasks to maintain organised and up-to-date financial records.
  • Manage invoices and payments with precision, adhering to budget constraints.
  • Handle corporate credit card expenses and reimbursement claims.
  • Prepare and submit BAS (Business Activity Statements) and conduct bank reconciliations.
  • Compile accounts and supporting documents for external auditors.
  • Forecast cash flow and provide financial insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in implementing and optimizing financial software systems.
  • Execute payroll processes accurately and ensure timely employee payments.
  • Address superannuation obligations to ensure compliance.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Diploma or Certificate IV in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
  • Sound understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
  • Proficiency in using MYOB.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE:
  • Experience with CALXA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
