About the Opportunity
We are searching for a Senior Finance Officer to assume end-to-end responsibility of account receivable processing and accounts payable functions, manage and track inventory, and be administratively responsible for all policies, agreements and contracts pertaining to business activity.
As our Senior Finance Officer you will work closely with our accountant to:
- Efficiently manage accounts in Xero and third-party billing platforms.
- Coordinate invoicing, reconcile systems, and collect overdue accounts.
- Prepare costings for major quotes/grant applications, ensuring financial compliance.
- Manage property leases, insurance, and act as the key contact.
- Oversee inventory, manage key registers, and handle ad hoc duties.
- Track timekeeping, payroll processing, and verification for accurate billing and reimbursement.
- Support unit managers with accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare and lodge grant submissions adhering to guidelines and deadlines.
- Handle correspondence, reports, and file maintenance.
- Manage accounts inbox, daily bank reconciliation, and card reconciliation.
- Perform daily system integration and miscellaneous administrative tasks as requested
Our must haves of you:
- Relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience of financial management
- Significant experience in a similar role working for a complex, multi program organisation.
- Understanding of end-to-end accounts receivable and payroll principles.
- Proficiency in Xero and other relevant accounting software
- Flexibility regarding providing backup services in other finance related roles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic work environment
