With over 40,000 students and a staff of 3,000, UTS offers a dynamic and inclusive environment for professional growth and development.Position OverviewThe Senior Finance Partner will play a critical role in providing expert financial advice and support to designated faculties and divisions within UTS. Reporting to the Head of Faculty Finance and Financial Planning & Analysis, this role will be responsible for navigating complex financial challenges and driving performance excellence across the university.The role would be considered as a succession plan for Central and Financial Leadership Team opportunities within a 2-5 year range.Key Responsibilities
- Provide sound financial advice and strategic guidance to faculties and divisions, ensuring alignment with UTS's overall strategic objectives.
- Lead and manage a team of finance professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality services to stakeholders.
- Analyse financial data from multiple sources and develop actionable insights to support informed decision-making.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the university, building trust and credibility.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, recommending and implementing changes to policies and procedures as needed.
- Balancing the diverse needs and priorities of multiple clients within each Hub.
- Standardizing processes across different parts of the university with varying levels of experience and local variations.
- Managing relationships with local clients while ensuring high service levels and alignment with central finance objectives.
- Full membership of an internationally recognized professional accounting body (ACA or CPA qualified).
- Extensive experience in financial management and/or financial analysis, preferably within the higher education sector.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience in leading and developing teams to deliver high-quality services.
- Strong financial modelling and Excel skills, with the ability to analyse complex data sets.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills, with a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
- Familiarity with financial systems such as Oracle and TM1 is desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the university sector and current trends and issues facing universities.
