Parramatta or Orange location, with opportunity to WFH 2 days per week
Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $120,859 to $133,183 + super
Our Finance and Assets team is seeking to appoint a Senior Accountant Fixed Assets to manage the asset accounting function of the Department of Planning and Environment and network of agencies through the development and application of Departmental policies, NSW Treasury policy mandates and Australian Accounting Standards.
The role of Senior Accountant Fixed Assets will provide an opportunity to use your professional and technical expertise to actively engage with business teams across the Department. This is a great opportunity to build your network across the network of agencies and provide excellent customer service and develop a deeper understanding of the services delivered by our network of agencies.
You’ll be proactive in the ongoing review of Australian Accounting Standards and NSW Treasury policies or directions to prepare technical assessments of the impact of new or emerging standards on accounting/disclosures for fixed assets.
Our Assets Team operates across a diverse, large, geographically dispersed and complex asset portfolio. This role will suit an organised, self-motivated and results driven finance professional who adopts practical strategies to continually enhance accuracy in recording and reporting of assets and compliance with policies.
About You
To be considered you will need to have experience in managing asset accounting function including assets revaluations and have knowledge of related accounting standards in a large/complex organisation.
You will demonstrate your experience in managing competing deadlines. It is critical that you can demonstrate your ability to engage with the business to resolve complex asset accounting issues and produce quality auditable documentation. You will also demonstrate your problem solving and process improvement skills.
Essential Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualification and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent membership.
Extensive experience and understanding of asset management, assets accounting and accounting standards.
