The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance & Technology team in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth office on a permanent full time basis.
Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Team Leader, you will play a key role in Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes through a
thorough understanding of accounting principles, including preparing group consolidation in accordance with corporate, accounting and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Support Corporate Accounting Team Leader and the team through providing advice on accounting standards and financial reporting requirements, guide and mentor team members as required
Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements or cost-saving initiatives
Assist in drafting accounting advice, procedures, and documentation, assessing the impacts of new accounting standards, assist with external audits, tax and financial reporting, identify improvements to accounting processes and controls
Initiate and process accurate and timely accounting entries in accordance with accounting standards to the general ledger via monthly journals
Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, reports (i.e consolidation and cash flow), quarterly investment report for the associates and joint ventures
Maintain and reconcile the tax effect accounting models, review general ledger for accuracy and completeness
Ad hoc financial accounting functions as required
Your background
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or work experience
- Professional accounting qualification i.e CPA / CA
- Experience working in medium/large listed corporate environment with proven work experience in a corporate accounting role
- Sound communication skills to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Knowledge of and ability to apply accounting standards and other financial reporting requirements
- Workday experience is beneficial
The Finance Division is responsible for all corporate financial activities that are related to the functioning, governance or consolidation of the group as a whole. The division is responsible for the provision of effective Financial Accountant and support functions to the internal business, and value add, revenue generating services to external entities.
