Job Title: Senior Financial Accountant
Location: Sydney, NSW
Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 + Super (depending on experience)
Overview:
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in managing our financial accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing strategic financial insights to support business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of annual financial statements, half-year reports, and quarterly business performance reports
- Manage and review general ledger accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial transactions
- Supervise and mentor a team of financial accountants, providing guidance and support
- Develop and implement financial processes and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards
- Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, banks, and other stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of experience in financial accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior role
- Professional accounting certification (CA, CPA, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to lead and manage a team, with a focus on development and growth
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality
Nice to Have:
- Experience with financial planning and analysis
- Knowledge of treasury management and cash flow forecasting
- Familiarity with financial modeling and scenario planning
- Experience with BI Tools (PowerBI, Tableau)
