What you will do (key responsibilities): • Manage the month end process for asset accounting, working with the QSS Assets team to ensure that the depreciation run and capital works in progress settlements are completed within the timeframes of the month end timetable.• Review month end asset balances and movement reconciliations in the general ledger and asset register provided by QSS for accuracy and correctness.• Provide advice to Business groups on asset policies for the acquisitions, disposals, transfers, changes to useful lives and revaluations.• Contribute to DAF and QAO planning process for the annual financial statements.• Provide accounting advice based on a good working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Queensland Treasury Financial Reporting Requirements and other relevant legislation.• Assist in the preparation of responses to urgent requests for financial information within short timeframes (e.g., questions on notice, Ministerial and management briefings, audit requests and position papers).• Support the Manager Capital, Maintenance and Asset Accounting as directed. What you will bring (qualifications, registrations, experience):While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, a tertiary degree in Commerce, Business or Accounting and membership of CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or other equivalent organisations will be highly regarded.
