Role overview:
The Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for statutory accounting, financial statement preparation, and monthly reporting. This role requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and strong analytical skills. You will be exposed too:
1. Statutory accounting
Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements,
Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with financial reporting framework.
Liaise with external auditors to facilitate the audit process and resolve audit queries.
2. Financial statement preparation
Compile and analyse financial information to prepare accurate and timely financial statements,
Prepare consolidated balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports,
3. Monthly reporting
Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts.
Assist in the development of financial forecasting and budgeting.
Provide variance analysis and explanation for financial performance against budget and prior periods.
4. Process improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial reporting.
Streamline processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
5. Collaboration and support
Work closely with other finance team members to ensure consistent and accurate financial reporting.
Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field and CA/CPA qualification is essential
- Strong technical accounting skills including familiarity with Australian accounting standards.
- 3–5-year external reporting experience preferably in a big 4 firm or large ASX listed entity
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Previous experience with Netsuite and workday adaptive is a plus.
